About 2-3 Days SafarI
A 2-3 day safari in Tanzania is short. You’ll only be away for 1-2 nights. But even within these time constraints, you’ll be making precious memories. Even more so than on a longer safari, you’ll have to make choices which we will help you with. To save time, a fly-in to Serengeti might be a good choice, but only if you must visit the Serengeti.
Otherwise you will see the big 5, plenty of birds and smaller animals in Lake Manyara, Tarangire and/or Ngorongoro. There are plenty of authentic safari lodges across all budgets. So whether you want to keep it simple or you want something truly romantic for your honeymoon, you can customize a 2-3 day safari from Arusha to suit your needs.
What you can expect on one day safari
NGORONGORO CRATER
This wildlife conservation area is sight to behold. Measuring 20 km in diameter, it is densely populated by big wildlife. Not a second passes when you do not see
BIG 5
While we cannot guarantee viewing all the big 5 animals in Tanzania, you are more than likely to see giraffes, elephants, zebras, lions, buffalos, hyenas and a whole lot of other smaller animals and birds.
SAFARI LODGES
African safari lodges have an old-school charm of their own. They are mostly nestled amidst nature, and the African hospitality is most welcome after a day of game drives. The location and services of some lodges will make you want more!
2-3 Days Safari Itineraries
You can visit any one of Arusha National Park, Tarangire, Lake Manyara or Ngorongoro Conservation Area in a day safari trip from Arusha. Depending on the time of the year and other factors, one location may have certain advantages over another. Contact us for detailed information.
VISIT 2 PARKS IN 2 DAYS
You can choose two parks from Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. If you prefer canoeing or walking safari, then the first day you can visit Arusha National Park. You will overnight either in Karatu area, which has some great lodges and is a relatively short distance to any one of the 3 major parks. Or in a lodge or tented camp inside a national park, depending on your budget.
VISIT 2 PARKS IN 3 DAYS
Choose two parks in 3 days for a more relaxed itinerary as you can stay inside one of the parks to lessen “non-game driving”. The time gained can be used for precious early morning safari when the predators are on the lookout for prey
VISIT 3 PARKS IN 3 DAYS
Covering 3 parks in 3 days in Northern Tanzania will include a lot of driving, but it will be packed with different vistas and wildlife every day. There is only one itinerary possibility here. The exact order may vary depending on the accommodation you finally decide on. If you want to include a walking or canoe safari in Arusha National Park, then the first day will be allocated to this, and you will only be able to cover 2 of the 3 parks above:
FLY TO SERENGETI (3 DAYS)
If you’re pressed for time and the Serengeti is your priority, cut out the driving and fly there. A 3-day fly-in safari lets you maximize your time in the Serengeti, and also features a visit to the stunning Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You can also fly in and fly out from Zanzibar. This trip can be customized to a great extent.

Safari prices depend a lot on the quality of accommodation chosen, whether it is located inside a national park or outside, the number of people in the vehicle, and the time of travel.
